Jen brings deep cross-sector experience that she draws upon to inform her work at Karp Strategies. Prior to NYPA, she was the Vice President of Clean Energy and Sustainability for the New York City Economic Development Corporation, where she launched several new energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives and was a key contributor to PlaNYC, the city’s first, long-term sustainability plan.

Before her work in government, Jen worked for several non-profit organizations including the New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN) as the Director of Research and Policy. In this role, Jen was responsible for developing an industrial policy platform that led to the formation of the Mayor’s Office of Industrial and Manufacturing Businesses. At NYIRN, Jen also launched the Green Manufacturing Initiative, which provided direct assistance to industrial companies seeking to reduce their environmental impact, as well as coordinated several citywide and neighborhood coalitions.

Jen currently teaches at Pratt Institute’s Programs for Sustainable Planning and Development. She holds a M.S. in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
