Jeff
Jeff Lee Romero is a Principal at Karp Strategies. A development finance attorney and urban planner by training with over 20 years of experience in community and economic development, Jeff thrives in helping private and public sector stakeholders to innovate and grow. He has advanced catalytic projects for a diverse set of businesses and stakeholders, and has overseen high-profile initiatives and programs, including the New York City Industrial Development Agency program and NYCEDC’s new markets tax credit program.
Jeff has worked across the private and public sectors. Prior to Karp Strategies, Jeff spearheaded the economic development practice at Capalino. His career also includes several years leading NYCEDC’s Strategic Investments Group, and a stint at one of New York’s foremost affordable housing law firms. Jeff received his BS in biology from University at Albany, an Urban Planning Masters from Hunter College, and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. He serves on the boards of Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation and Billion Oyster Project, and is a Coro Leadership New York graduate. A native New Yorker with roots in the Latinx and Asian communities, Jeff is a proud child/grandchild of immigrants from China and Colombia. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner and two children.
