Mel activates a background rooted in research and practice to promote healthy, equitable communities.
Mel is a Graduate Analyst at Karp Strategies, where she contributes cross-sector experience in public health, education, and urban planning. Prior to joining the firm, Mel worked for multiple non-profits in the Boston area focused on improving health, economic opportunity, and cycling education. She currently utilizes research and data to guide diverse audiences’ participation in equitable, informative community and economic development work. Outside of Karp Strategies, Mel also serves as the Gramlich Fellow in Community and Economic Development through the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College and is currently pursuing a Master in Urban Planning at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. Mel can typically be found exploring Greater Boston by bike or foot at varying speeds depending on the day.
