Mohammad is driven by a belief that urban planning must center the voices of historically marginalized communities. With a background in research, planning, and community engagement, Mohammad has contributed to projects focused on affordable housing, land use, transportation, and tenant rights. At the NYC Department of City Planning, Mohammad supported zoning and land use initiatives and engaged with community stakeholders to inform development. He has also developed policy proposals, conducted GIS mapping, and supported community-based research that highlights the displacement risks facing long-term residents in New York City. A native New Yorker raised in Brooklyn, outside of work, you can find him rooting for the Knicks, advocating for affordable housing, or exploring Halal restaurants across the five boroughs.
