Stakeholder Outreach + Engagement Strategy

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) sought to update their Sustainable Infrastructure Guidelines, first introduced in 2011, to ensure they meet the best practices in sustainable infrastructure design, construction, and operation. Building off Envision, an established third-party rating system, the new PANYNJ guidelines streamline the documentation process and tailor credits to PANYNJ’s unique needs and applications. Arcadis worked with PANYNJ and a consultant team to redevelop the guidelines, including Karp Strategies, which led internal stakeholder engagement and case study analysis. Karp Strategies facilitated a series of interactive workshops with key PANYNJ staff and synthesized stakeholder insights along with case study analysis to support Arcadis in developing updated guidelines in a clear and professionally designed manual.
