Strategic Planning

Citywide Ferry Service (CFS) is an initiative by Mayor Bill de Blasio and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to launch five new ferry routes along New York’s East River. The first phase of the project is opened in summer 2017, serving the Rockaways, South Brooklyn, and Astoria; the remaining two routes – serving Soundview and the Lower East Side – are expected to go online in 2018. McLaren Engineering Group (McLaren) provided professional design engineering services for all CFS landings. Karp Strategies was contracted by McLaren to support stakeholder outreach after the release of the Environmental Impact Study, assist with any waterfront planning and zoning required for potential landing relocations, and lead, as needed, coordination with multiple government stakeholders and landowners.
