George
AREAs of expertise

With an academic background in Urban Studies, experience across the creative industries, and several years in the international development sector, George Barnett brings strong research, program design, and partnership development skills from a range of sectors and global contexts—including Kampala, Dar es Salaam, London, and New York.
Most recently, through his work at Palladium International, George collaborated with government ministries, academic institutions, as well as civil society and private-sector partners to design solutions to today’s most pressing development challenges. His work included national child protection reform in Ukraine; health financing and health systems strengthening support for Ministries of Health across East Africa; and the development of a global network of digital democracy experts focused on regulatory frameworks, rights-respecting technology, and civil society strengthening.
George holds a BA and an MSc from the London School of Economics. His background includes performing at music festivals worldwide, managing a Brooklyn-based music school, and conducting research on the music industry in Dar es Salaam. Outside of pursuing new business opportunities at Karp Strategies, he can be found running through Prospect Park or walking his dog around Bed-Stuy.
