With over 14 years of experience at the intersection of policy, finance, and operations, Pankaj has worked with governments, businesses, and investors on transformative urban infrastructure and built-environment projects. He combines expertise in economic development, stakeholder engagement, and project management with extensive client-facing advisory experience, guiding clients on the deployment of clean technologies. As Senior Advisor at Innovation Norway, he led major initiatives in green ports, electric mobility, and renewable energy, including strategies for energy storage solutions, green hydrogen, and EV charging infrastructure, in addition to shaping policy for resilient coastal communities. He also contributed to India’s first electric urban water transport system and led community-focused projects such as modernizing fishing fleets and developing green industrial clusters, which led to the creation of 10,000 jobs and attracted $50 million in investment. Previously, as Vice President at a New York-based ESG advisory firm, he advised 18 private equity firms and 90 portfolio companies, integrating sustainability, driving profitability, and improving operational efficiency. His work included impact assessments of energy transition projects such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), clean mobility initiatives, and advising on shore power deployment at ports in partnership with the Port Authorities. Most recently, as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations at a BESS firm, he led business development, built strategic partnerships, and designed engagement strategies to accelerate clean energy adoption.
