Karp Strategies worked with Karl F. Seidman Consulting Services to develop an updated Economic Development Plan for South Portland, Maine, a small but thriving coastal city with a diverse economy facing competition from surrounding cities. The Economic Development Plan provides South Portland’s Economic Development Committee data and analysis on the city’s existing conditions, a SWOT analysis, and strategies and an action plan for implementation. Karp Strategies led demographic, market, and employment analysis; conducted and analyzed stakeholder interviews; and administered and analyzed a survey of residents as part of the existing conditions analysis. Along with Karl F. Seidman Consulting, our firm developed the final strategy recommendations, and subsequent action plan and report to the city.
