Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, SoHo's Public Realm, and Expanding Our Team

We hope that you enjoyed 2021 Hispanic Heritage Month! Did you know that the first Hispanic Heritage Week was celebrated in 1968 by President Lyndon B. Johnson? By 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed into law the observance of Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM). The United States now celebrates HHM on September 15 - October 15 every year. The start date of HHM is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for the Latin American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

The 2018 census predicts that by 2060, there will be 111 million Hispanics in the United States. As an urban planning firm, we recognize the impact that all immigrant groups have had on US cities and urbanism overall. To celebrate, we encourage everyone to read
